We had a few that were decent enough guys. But they were eventually phased out by a CO who was a total company man. He did some "housecleaning" in our circuit.

But the correct way of thinking is like this: Joseph and Mary went from Nazareth to Bethlehem. Then, after seeing the Magi, they left Bethlehem and went to Egypt, and after Herod died they went back to their point of origin, namely Nazareth. It's all bullshit.
I went ahead and fixed that for you. You're welcome.

New Star Wars movie trailer
by poopsiecakes inthe first trailer has been released!
true confession - i'm kind of a geek, always loved star wars and it gave me a bit of a lady boner.
anyone who knows the franchise is probably familiar with the character wedge antilles.

I really thought the franchise peaked with Empire. It was hands down the best one. There were some great moments in Jedi, but I agree that the Ewoks ruined it. I'm hoping JJ Abrams can actually breathe some new life into it, and not just make it about the visual effects.

Jehovah's Trumpet - Dangers of Superstition
by cofty inthe latest blast of "jehovah's trumpet" warns us about the irrational nature of common superstitions.... the article then goes on to provide counsel on the dangers of the domonic attacks that often result from unwisely purchasing second-hand objects.
the risk is demonstrated by recounting the real-life story of poor sister lemming and her new ministry bag.. genius satire as always!
please take some time to read the community comments.. .

Greatest College Football Day
by DisArmed ini don't read too much about sports on the forum.
one of the great things about being out of wally world is enjoying sports without judgement.
i love college football and this, to me is the greatest college football day!

I know it doesn't have the luster of Alabama-Auburn, but Wisconsin-Minnesota is the game I'm going to be watching today. Oldest rivalry in college football, and it's for the Big Ten west title. The first time in over 50 years that there's been that much at stake.
Go Badgers!

A day in the life of a Cop...my story. The truth.
by Witness 007 ini work for a mental health unit with 2 police officers we deal with people who have drug and mental health issues.
at times over the last 10 years we have "taken down" some large drug affected men, mainly "ice" these days which is epidemic here, and let me tell you even with three of us it is a huge struggle.
sometimes back up is needed or mace spray which is aweful stuff!

My personal feeling is that even the majority of 'bad' cops start out with good intentions. I can't help but think of the scene in Crash when Matt Dillon says to his idealistic rookie partner "Wait until you've been on the job for twenty years".
Being a cop is such a thankless job, with low pay, and high risk. Combine that with the fact that they have to deal with the dregs of humanity on a regular basis. That's not a defense of those who become corrupted. But I have the utmost respect for the ones that don't.

Officer Wilson not indicted in killing of Michael Brown
by Simon inafter a thorough investigation and weighing of the evidence the grand jury has decided not to indict the officer.. the reaction so far seems as predicted - people refuse to accept that the result represents justice despite claims that is what they wanted.. there is now violence and vandalism, including gunshots.
let's hope the police contain the troublemakers.. .

Adrenaline/nerves also make things difficult
Precisely. It's one thing that can't be simulated at a shooting range, no matter how good of a shot you are.

I really wasn't going to comment on this thread, but citing a blog as a news source seems kind of desperate.

Ever notice how JW's can attend a talk or Convention and remember nothing?
by Wasanelder Once inhow many times have you asked a jw who has attended a public talk how the talk was, only to be told it was so great!
yet they cannot remember the title nor any one single point except that the brother was "funny" or was good with illustratiions or some other vauge point?
and conventions weren't far off either.

There's no reason why they would remember anything. Every talk, or convention, is indistinguishable from all the ones that preceded it. It's the same rehashed, formulaic material. Despite how 'wonderful' they will claim it was, there's really nothing special or memorable about it.
